Welcome to New York State Disabilities Advocacy Association and Network (NYS DAAN)!
The goal of our website is to create a clearinghouse of information that supports people with disabilities and their families, advocates and service providers. Our goal is to help increase timely access to current, useful information on a wide range of policies and issues; and to local and regional advocacy groups and organizations, training and support. We are interested in sharing positive advocacy stories and identifyng evidence based practices in all sectors. Please consider joining NYS DAAN and become a member of our growing community. Please share an advocacy story that inspires people with disabilities, their families and caregivers, their advocates and service providers. Stop by often. The Task Force on Advocacy Announces Revised Principles of Practice

How to Use This Site
The site is organized by the tabs near the top of the page. These locations are also accessible by links at the bottom of the page.
Events tab brings you to information about NYSDAAN sponsored conferences, regional forums, events sponsored by NYSDAAN members, and other events and training opportunities of interest to people with disabilities and to advocates.
Resources tab offers links to New York State Government websites with a primary focus on people with disabilities, as well as National disability advocacy information and referral links, an A to Z index of the content of the website; and an alphabetical list of web-based resources on specific topics, and disability specific groups and associations.
Topics area provides current information on advocacy, education, employment, health, housing, recreation, technology and travel.
For Advocates covers Principles of Practice, legislation, public policy issues, and task force reports on various issues.
Membership lists NYSDAAN organizational members, information on benefits of membership, and how to join.
