Statistics on People with Disabilities from the U.S. Census bureau provides interesting information on numbers of people with disabilities, their employment, and earnings. Link is to the NY Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) website article.

ACT (Advocating Change Together) publishes a weekly memo with a new trivia question each week. On the website you will find a link to the weekly memo on their left side menu.  

Disability History Many states have designated the third week of October as Disability History Week, including New York State. Karen Lazik, from People, Inc. continues to lead the legislative effort to have disability history added to the NYS Education curriculum.   If you or your organization would like to support this legilslation and spread the importance of disability awareness, there are many activities that you can arrange or support throughout the year.  There is a Disability History Week Website 

Disability History Curriculum The Museum of disABILTY History, with a grant from the Golisano Foundation, has developed a set of materials for teachers to use in their lessons on the history of disability.
