Disability History Many states have designated the third week of October as Disability History Week, including New York State. Karen Lazik, from People, Inc. continues to lead the legislative effort to have disability history added to the NYS Education curriculum. If you or your organization would like to support this legilslation and spread the importance of disability awareness, there are many activities that you can arrange or support throughout the year. Disability History Curriculum The Museum of disABILTY History, with a grant from the Golisano Foundation, has developed a set of materials for teachers to use in their lessons on the history of disability.
